Easy Crockpot Beef (or Turkey) Chili Recipe

Soup is a staple in our house, especially during winter. We usually have a different kind of soup each week, depending on how our menu works out. I love to make soup because it is easy and we almost always have leftovers. Leftovers are great because then I don’t have to do as much cooking for the next nights dinner! I’m all for that! Feel free to check out my other soup/stew recipes here: In The Kitchen, Soups & Stews

So I thought I would share with you my recipe for Crockpot Beef Chili. I’ve been making this recipe for probably at least 10 years. It feels so strange to say that, 10 years. It seems like just yesterday that I was a newlywed just learning how to cook…my how time flies!

So moving onto how I make Crockpot Beef Chili:

Step #1   Gather Ingredients:

  1. 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
  2. 1 onion, diced
  3. 1 packet chili seasoning mix
  4. 1 Tbsp cooking oil
  5. 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  6. 2 cans diced tomatoes
  7. 2 cans chili beans (or any beans you choose)
  8. 1 cup water

Step #2  Brown ground beef in skillet with onion and cooking oil. Drain grease.

Step #3  Put the cooked beef mixture in the Crock Pot. Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir them well to blend. Make sure to shake the bean cans well first. (Having a super cute helper is always a good idea!)

Step #4  Set Crock Pot to Low for 8 hours or High for 4 hours.

Step #5  Top with cheese and sour cream and enjoy!! I usually make a pan of cornbread to go with it, which is always a big hit!
