The Best & Easiest Crockpot Ham Bone Soup Recipe in the World!

Spread the love

It has been a really long time since I’ve posted a new recipe, so I thought it was about time! With Fall and cooler weather just around the corner, I’m going to share with you one of my favorite recipes for Ham Bone Soup. You are going to love this one, it is so easy and it takes no time at all to throw this in the crockpot! I found this recipe online more than 5 years ago and have been revising it ever since to suit our tastes and sometimes depending on what I have in the pantry.

Whenever I cook a ham, I always save the ham bone for this soup. Even if I’m not going to make the soup right away, I will freeze the ham bone and it works just as well. It’s almost like getting a free meal when you take it out a few weeks later and just add the veggies! Plus with our family, we usually have leftovers so this can even last for 2-3 meals!

Here is how to make it:

Step #1   Gather Ingredients

  1. 1 ham bone with some meat
  2. 1 onion, diced
  3. 1 (14 oz) can peeled & diced tomatoes with juice
  4. 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans
  5. 3 potatoes, cubed
  6. 4 cups water
  7. 6 cubes chicken bouillon

Step #2  Place the ham bone, onion, tomatoes, beans and potatoes into a 3 quart or larger slow cooker. Dissolve the bouillon cubes in water and pour into the slow cooker.

Step #3   Cover and cook on High until warm. Reduce heat to Low and continue to cook for 5 to 6 hours.

Step #4  Serve hot with any bread you like. This literally goes great with any type of bread from cornbread to garlic bread or biscuits.
