Back in April one morning we decided we needed to get out of the house and so for school we decided to go on a small field trip instead of doing our regular book work.
We chose a local museum called the Comporium Telephone Museum. It is right in town and free. It is a really neat museum, they have displays showing the history of telephones. They even have working telephones and switchboards that kids can play around with. They were able to talk to each other on old telephones, even a phone booth where they could call my cell phone from. I love finding places like this where we can get out of the house and still learn a lot. The kids all had a great time!
If you live in the Rock Hill area, you should definitely check out this place. It’s near downtown, just off of Main Street. It would be awesome if you are studying the history of telephones as well!
