Growing up, we looked forward to Easter morning all year long. My mom always went all out for our baskets and it was so exciting to wake up and find them on the kitchen table over flowing with goodies! Now that I’m a mom, I LOVE filling Easter Baskets for my kids! It is so much fun and I love seeing their faces when they open all the surprises! As with Christmas, we always try to keep the main focus of the holiday on the true meaning, Jesus, but I love having this time that my kids look forward to each year the same as I did when I was young.
I know that Easter is getting pretty close and a lot of people already have their kids’ Easter Baskets ready, but I wanted to share with you how we pack our kids’ baskets. When you are filling up 4 Easter Baskets, it can really get expensive! But it doesn’t have to be.
This weekend we were able to attend a really fun event. I have been trying for over 5 years now to make it to Historic Brattonsville’s Sheep Shearing Day and every year something else came up. This year we finally made it! It was so much fun! This was a much smaller event than the Children’s Day on the Farm one we went to a few weeks ago. That was nice because it wasn’t so crowded that I felt overwhelmed. It was very laid back and the kids were really able to get involved in the activities.
Here are a few pictures from our fun morning:

Hi everyone! I have an easy new recipe for you today, Crockpot Shepherd’s Pie. I found this recipe in a cookbook and have changed it over the years to how we like it. This is a great one to make for a busy day and just stick it in the crockpot and then it’s ready for you at dinner!
I usually make some mashed potatoes to go with it and honestly a lot of times those are just the boxed ones that you add hot water to! Those boxed mashed potatoes have saved me a lot of time over the years. I do try to make fresh whenever I can, but there are just those days when you don’t have the time. I love to serve this over mashed potatoes and sprinkled with cheese.
