This weekend we were able to attend a really fun event. I have been trying for over 5 years now to make it to Historic Brattonsville’s Sheep Shearing Day and every year something else came up. This year we finally made it! It was so much fun! This was a much smaller event than the Children’s Day on the Farm one we went to a few weeks ago. That was nice because it wasn’t so crowded that I felt overwhelmed. It was very laid back and the kids were really able to get involved in the activities.
Here are a few pictures from our fun morning:
Shearing the sheep:
Baby lambs with their mama ewe (the mama had just been sheared):
The freshly cut wool is being washed:
Carding the wool:
Spinning the wool:
Washing the fabric made with the wool (this was their favorite part!):
Petting the lamb:
This was such a fun event to attend at Brattonsville! If you live in our area and have the membership, they have so many fun events all through the year! The membership is definitely worth it.
Until next time,
