I can’t believe it has been one year today since I started this blog and published my first post! The time has gone by so fast! I hope that I have accomplished what I intended for this blog to be. For me to be able to share with you a little about my journey and also to encourage you and give you support along the way.
I have truly enjoyed sharing myself with all of you this past year. I have published 197 posts, including 30 different recipes, several craft how-to’s, my new series called Dollars & Sense on saving money, book lists & reviews, along with tons of great ideas for families, kids, homeschooling and education.
In order to celebrate the one year birthday of Afternoons with Amy, I am proudly hosting my first giveaway! I have been planning this for awhile and am very excited about it!
Since Jason and I are in the midst of planning our family vacation for this summer, I thought I would share with you some tips on how we are able to have awesome vacations for less and you can too!
Around the time of the Superbowl, I did the Amanda Bennett Football Frenzy Unit Study with the boys.
Hi everyone! Sometimes change is scary, but other times it’s exciting. Recently I have experienced a very small change, but still noteworthy.
My hair was getting so long and thick that I was getting very tired of it. So I decided it was time for a hair cut! Some of you who know me know that I typically grow my hair out for about two years and then have it cut to donate to Locks of Love.
In case you don’t know, this is a wonderful organization that takes hair donations from people and creates wigs for kids who have cancer and lose their hair.
I fell in love with this idea years ago and this will be my 5th time donating my hair to them. I love the idea that they can take something as simple as my hair and completely change a child’s life. I just think it’s an amazing thing to do for kids.
So here are a few pictures I thought I would share… (I had 10 inches cut off!)
Hi everyone! Last weekend we celebrated two birthdays in our house! On Sunday, we celebrated Flash’s 11th birthday and on Monday we celebrated Popstar’s 13th birthday. I seriously cannot believe I am the mother of a teenager and a tweenager now! The time has gone by so fast. I am so grateful that God gave me these two wonderful kids. They truly are my heart and my joy and they are growing into amazing people…my 11 year old just isn’t supposed to be taller than me yet!
