This past weekend, we were so excited to get snow! Living in South Carolina, we don’t get much snow and so this was a huge deal! The kids were up and headed outside by 8am and by about 9am we had 4 snowmen in our front yard! After they came inside, Popstar decided it was time for a treat. So I figured a snow day was the perfect time to try a new recipe. She loves to cook and her grandmother had gotten her this cookbook for Christmas:

So I told her to look through her cookbook and find something that we had all the ingredients for to make. She came up with S’mores on a Stick. They turned out to be so delicious, I was just wishing that we’d had some hot chocolate to go with them!

Here’s how we made them:

Step #1   Gather Ingredients:

  • 1 (14oz) can Sweetened Condensed Milk, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate mini chips, divided
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 11 graham crackers, halved crosswise
  • Toppings: chopped peanuts, mini candy-coated chocolate pieces, sprinkles

Step #2  Microwave half of the sweetened condensed milk in a microwave-safe bowl at High (100% power) for 1 1/2 minutes. Stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips until smooth.

Step #3   Stir in marshmallows.

Step #4   Spread evenly by heaping tablespoonfuls onto 11 graham cracker halves.

Step #5   Top with remaining graham cracker halves, place on waxed paper.

Step #6   Microwave remaining canned milk at High for 1 1/2 minutes; stir in remaining chocolate chips, stir until smooth. Drizzle mixture over cookies and sprinkle with desired toppings.

Step #7   Let stand for 2 hours; insert wooden craft stick into center of each cookie.
