25 Days of Thanksgiving, Day #11: Pumpkins

One of my favorite things about Fall is Pumpkins! Everyone loves pumpkins. Day #11 in the 25 Days of Thanksgiving Series is all about Pumpkins.

25 Days of Thanksgiving, Day #10: Plymouth

For Day #10 of the 25 Days of Thanksgiving, I wanted to focus on Plymouth (or maybe it should be spelled Plimoth?). I was a little surprised that I didn’t find as much as I thought I would on this subject. I have already shared about the Mayflower and Pilgrims. Those two subjects go right along with Plymouth basically. But I have tried to see what I could find about the Pilgrims life in Plymouth.

Scholastic has wonderful resources for Thanksgiving. I shared a link to this same page when I did The Mayflower on Day #3 and if you look beside the Mayflower video, there is one about The Pilgrim Village that is really good. They also have Teaching Resources that you can check out as well.

25 Days of Thanksgiving, Day #9: Scarecrows

I have to admit, I am excited about Day #9 of the 25 Days of Thanksgiving! I LOVE Scarecrows! I realize that Scarecrows don’t have anything to do with the first Thanksgiving, but they are so cute and so much fun!

Here is an article I found if you want to read a little about the history of scarecrows. I thought it was very interesting.

Italian Bean Soup Recipe

Hi everyone! I have a new recipe for you today! Italian Bean Soup is perfect for this time of year, now that it’s getting cooler outside. I love to make a big pot of soup in my crockpot about once a week from Fall through early Spring. I found this recipe more than 5 years ago and we have loved it, it’s one of our favorites! I found it in this cookbook: 365 Quick, Easy & Inexpensive Dinner Menus by Penny E. Stone . (Actually, in the cookbook it tells you to cook it on the stove, but I have since converted it to a crockpot recipe)
