When we think of Thanksgiving, especially the first one we always remember the Indians (Native Americans) who ate with the Pilgrims. Day #17 of the 25 Days of Thanksgiving Series is all about Native American Indians.

There are lots of good books out there about Indians, but these are the ones I thought would be best to read around Thanksgiving time:

Squanto’s Journey: The Story of the First Thanksgiving   by Joseph Bruchac

The First Thanksgiving   by Alice Dalgliesh

The Very First Americans   by Cara Ashrose

The Wampanoag   by Kevin Cunningham

Tapenum’s Day: A Wampanoag Indian Boy In Pilgrim Times   by Kate Waters

People of the Breaking Day   by Marcia Sewall

Thunder From the Clear Sky   by Marcia Sewall
