Popstar finally came to the end of her Beyond Five in a Row book for school, The Boxcar Children. She actually finished back in September, I am a little slow getting these on here. Oh well…better late than never!
Chapter 13 was called “A New Home for the Boxcar” and in this chapter, the children go to live with their grandfather. He has each of their rooms decorated for them and the house is beautiful. But the children start to miss the boxcar. So grandfather comes up with the idea to have the boxcar moved into his garden. The children are thrilled and love living with their grandfather.
We spent 2 school days on Chapter 13.
Day One: Popstar read the chapter and did her Writing/Discussion Questions in her notebook. Then we moved onto the History/Geography Lesson on Rail Cars. We enjoyed learning that Rail Cars are used for a lot more things than we realized!
Day Two: Popstar read the Bible lesson. Then we went over the Human Relations lesson on Making Friends and how it’s important to learn about their interests and how it can make your relationship even better. After that, the last lesson we did was Fine Arts, and drew a portrait of the Alden family. Here is Popstar’s:
So that finished up The Boxcar Children! She spent a week working on some projects to go along with the book and I’ll post about that week soon. After that, she’s moving onto her next Beyond FIAR book, Homer Price.
