On Getting Healthy…AngieFitnessTV

Hi everyone! I know that I have mentioned a few times that Jason and I have been trying to eat better and get healthy. I wanted to give you a little update on how we’re doing and what’s been working for us.

It all really started in January 2015. We both decided that we wanted to make some lifestyle changes and get healthy. So we started with the New Years Resolutions. I know people typically poke fun at making New Years Resolutions, but I sincerely believe that these really can be life changing if you take it seriously and work hard at it. The beginning of a brand new year is the best time to start over and work on bettering yourself.

So we began in January 2015 and started working hard at eating better, exercising and trying to get healthy. We both lost some weight at first and then just a little here and a little there. We’ve both gone through periods of time where we weren’t losing and it’s been a very long and slow process for us. But I’ve always believed that losing weight slower is better, because you are more likely to keep it off longer.

I started using a Fitbit and that has been a HUGE motivator for me as well. I know it’s just numbers, but for some reason making my step goal for the day and seeing the smiley face light up on the app on my phone, just excites me and makes me want to work harder! I love my fitbit!

As of today since January 2015 Jason has lost 30 pounds and I have lost 45 pounds! But it’s more than just the numbers and how many pounds to us. It has changed our entire lives. We feel so much stronger and better about ourselves and we just love that we have so much more energy. We just almost love life more than we used to.

I actually found some free workout videos on youtube.com. I was looking for step aerobic workouts and I came across AngieFitnessTV. I have been working out with Angie for about a year and a half now and it (along with watching what I eat) has totally changed my life! I honestly feel stronger right now at age 40 than I have ever felt in my entire life!

Angie’s workouts have encouraged me to keep working and to push myself to the next level of fitness. She offers short 20 minute workouts all the way up to hour long workouts. She offers tons of variety anywhere from the most basic cardio to strength training, kick-boxing and step aerobics and even more. I look forward to my afternoon workouts every day. When I finish a workout, I feel so accomplished and energized. I am so thankful that I found Angie’s workouts and I just wanted to tell everyone about her. She does all her stuff for free because she wants to encourage people to get up and just move your body the way God meant for us to.

I know that I will continue to have ups and downs, but I feel like I have reached a whole new level of maintaining a healthy lifestyle with eating good foods and getting regular exercise. I’m not at my ultimate goal yet, but I know that I will get there even if it takes awhile and I will do it one day at a time! I could never do any of this though, without God giving me the strength. I have to give Him all the glory for it. There are some days that I just don’t have the motivation to get through a workout or even to make sure I’m eating healthy. But God always comes through for me and picks me up and pushes me to keep going! God is so good to us, we don’t even realize how much He does for us. I’m so thankful that He cares even about the littlest things in our lives enough to help us when we call out to Him, aren’t you?
