Labor Day Weekend is Apple Festival time in Hendersonville, NC. We live about a 2 hour drive from there and so last Saturday (Labor Day Weekend) we drove up there for the day. This is the second year we’ve gone Labor Day Weekend. The weather was perfect and we had such a nice ride and had a wonderful time. Last year we went to Sky Top Orchard and this year we decided to pick a different one, since there are so many in the same area. This year we went to Grandad’s Apples N’ Such.
There was so much to do and see! We were able to pick our own Golden Delicious and Fuji and that was really fun. It is such a beautiful farm! We also picked up a bag of Honeycrisp to take home as well and some Apple Cider. We also tried the apple donuts….delicious! I LOVE LOVE apple season!!
They had a play area for kids that was neat. There was a huge haystack with a tunnel under it to play on, a haystack maze and a big rope spider web to play on. We all had a great time.
We took a picnic lunch and enjoyed the beautiful farm and weather. It was so perfect. Then we headed on home. It was a really nice drive through the mountains. We had so many nice pictures, but I tried to pick out the best ones to share!
I hope you get to visit an apple orchard with your family this fall!
