Our Summer vacation from school is officially started! Woohoo!! We were all definitely ready and in need of a break from school! I’m a planner by nature and so I’ve been planning for months for our summer. We don’t really have our kids do a lot of summer camps, but we look for fun activities that are free or very inexpensive. Here is a list of activities we will be participating in this summer:
This was my last row of the school year with my boys. Sigh…another school year is ending! I saved this one for the last one of the year because it is a very fun and light-hearted book and is rather short in detailed lessons. The boys have almost “zoned” out, so we probably could’ve gotten more out of it if I had tried a little harder. But this mama is also ready for a break!
I have a new recipe to share with you. I don’t know if you could actually call this a recipe, it is just something very easy to make that my family enjoys. You know I love love love my crockpot and this is another super easy one to throw in for dinner, Crockpot Chicken Spaghetti with Garlic Bread.
I’m a little late getting this one posted, but we finished up Ferdinand around the middle of May with the boys. Our school year was winding down, so momentum wasn’t quite as strong with this one. We still had fun with it, though!
We decided about 6 months ago that we wanted to give camping a try. So we did some research and bought the basic equipment we thought we would need. We decided to go Memorial Day Weekend, for 2 reasons. First, we just finished our school year so it would be a celebration of that as well as Daddy already had off work on Monday. We ended up finding a campground that sits at the start of the Virginia Creeper Trail in southwestern Virginia. It was a 3 hour drive from our house and we would be able to enjoy camping on a Christmas Tree Farm as well as biking the Virginia Creeper Trail! Everything was so incredibly green and beautiful! The weather was not too hot and not too cold! Well, maybe a little cold at night being in the mountains! But not the humidity we’re used to in South Carolina for sure!
Hi everyone! So it’s Sunday night again at our house and new Dessert recipe night! We decided to let Popstar pick the recipe this week and she actually did most of the cooking as well! It turned out SO good! She picked a really good one…Reece’s Peanut Butter Bars…..heavenly! She found this recipe on Pinterest at this blog: Inside Bru Crew Life .
My kids and I are very excited about the summer reading program at our library. We participate every summer and enjoy the shows they put on each week, it is a highlight for us every summer. The kids also love it when I am doing the reading program with them, as our library has summer programs for every age. Adults read 3 books and are entered in a drawing for prizes. So here are the 3 books I have chosen to read this summer:
