Reece’s Peanut Butter Bars

Hi everyone! So it’s Sunday night again at our house and new Dessert recipe night! We decided to let Popstar pick the recipe this week and she actually did most of the cooking as well! It turned out SO good! She picked a really good one…Reece’s Peanut Butter Bars…..heavenly! She found this recipe on Pinterest at this blog: Inside Bru Crew Life .

So here’s how to make this delicious dessert:

Step #1  Gather Ingredients:

Bar Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 cup butter
  2. 2 cups peanut butter chips
  3. 1/4 cup sugar
  4. 1/2 cup brown suger
  5. 1 tsp vanilla
  6. 3 eggs
  7. 1 and 1/4 cups flour
  8. 1/2 tsp salt
  9. 1 cup halved mini Reece’s peanut butter cups

Frosting Ingredients:

  1. 4 Tbsp butter
  2. 1 tsp vanilla
  3. 6 Tbsp whipping cream
  4. 2 cups powdered sugar
  5. 1/4 cup dark cocoa powder (I used regular)
  6. 1/3 cup mini Reece’s Pieces

Step #2: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the peanut butter chips and stir until melted and creamy. Stir in the sugars. Remove from heat.

Step #3: Beat the eggs and vanilla until frothy. Stir a little bit of the hot peanut butter mixture in at a time,  until all is mixed in. Add the flour and salt and beat until a soft dough forms.

Step #4: Stir in the halved peanut butter cups and spread the mixture in a greased 9×13 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 23-25 minutes. Cool completely.

Step #5: To make the frosting: Beat the butter and vanilla until creamy. Add the whipping cream, powdered sugar and cocoa powder and beat until creamy. Spread over the cooled bars and sprinkle with Reece’s Pieces. Cut into 24 large bars or 48 small bars. Store in a sealed container on the counter.
