My kids and I are very excited about the summer reading program at our library. We participate every summer and enjoy the shows they put on each week, it is a highlight for us every summer. The kids also love it when I am doing the reading program with them, as our library has summer programs for every age. Adults read 3 books and are entered in a drawing for prizes. So here are the 3 books I have chosen to read this summer:
The first book is called West From Home by Laura Ingalls Wilder. It is full of letters that Laura wrote to her husband, Almanzo Wilder when she visited their daughter Rose in San Francisco in 1915.
The second book is called Mount Vernon Love Story, A Novel of George and Martha Washington by Mary Higgins Clark. This is a fictional account of how George and Martha Washington fell in love.
And the third book is called Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst. I have wanted to read this book for a long time. I love anything by Lysa Terkeurst. This book teaches you how to crave God instead of food.
So my hope is to get these three books read during our library’s summer reading program, which goes from June 6th through the end of July. Hopefully I can and will write a blog post about each one as I finish them!
What are you reading this summer? Please comment! I would love to hear about books you recommend or enjoyed.
