Field Trip to Hollywild Animal Park

The other weekend we took a day trip to Inman, SC to Hollywild Animal Park. We were meeting up with an old friend of mine from High School as well as enjoying a fun time at the zoo.

This zoo was very small and more casual than most of the other zoos we’ve been to. It wasn’t so much walking that you were exhausted by the end of the day, but there were a lot of exciting animals to see.

We met up with an old friend of mine from High School and had so much fun reminiscing about old times. I hadn’t seen her in many years and it was great to see her again!

We took a ride on their “Safari Bus” which took us out into a field where we could see up close and feed animals. We were amazed at some of the animals we saw. There were Bison, Llamas, Deer, Cows, Emus, Longhorns. We were able to feed them bagels right out of our hands. The kids absolutely loved it. That was probably the best part of the whole zoo!

After the Safari bus ride, we ate our picnic lunch. That was another perk of the smaller zoo. Most large zoos won’t even allow you to bring your own food inside the zoo. After lunch, we went on to visit the rest of the animals. There were peacocks roaming around. We saw Camels, Tigers, Lions, Tigers, Orangutan, Bears, Swans, Geese, Fish, Turtles, Birds and more. We even saw the horse from the Pippi Longstocking movies. That is the reason this zoo is called “Hollywild”. They have a lot of retired animals that were used in movies. The kids were super excited about that part.

It really was a very fun day for all of us! I would recommend this zoo for a day trip to anyone who lives in the area!
