What’s for breakfast, Mom?

A few of my friends and I are convinced that the third child that comes along in a family is there to really test us to see what we’re made of. We all have very strong-willed third kids. My youngest boy, Hulk who is now 6 1/2, has always pushed me to the limit and really keeps me hopping all day everyday.

Over the years I have figured out that one of the most important things I can do to make sure we have a good day, is to make sure he has a really good breakfast. If he does, then our day goes along much easier.




I wanted to share a list of ideas for a good breakfast to start the school day right.

  1. Scrambled eggs (his all time favorite!)
  2. Omelette
  3. French Toast
  4. Oatmeal
  5. Pancakes
  6. Waffles
  7. Muffins
  8. Toast (w/butter & jelly or peanut butter)
  9. Sausage
  10. Bacon
  11. Yogurt & Fruit
  12. Cereal & milk
  13. Banana bread
  14. Breakfast burritos
  15. Fruit Smoothies
  16. Bagel (w/cream cheese or peanut butter)
  17. English Muffins
  18. Hard boiled eggs
  19. Eggs & grits (my personal favorite!)
  20. Biscuits (w/butter & jelly or even eggs & bacon)
Most of the time when I make something like Pancakes or Waffles, I will double the batch so we have leftovers for the next day as well. That can be a time-saver also. I hope this list may be helpful in planning your breakfast menu. It definitely helps our whole day to be a lot more enjoyable to have a plan for breakfast. Everyone feels better after a good start to the day!
