The ABC Bunny by Wanda Gag is a Before Five in a Row book that I recently finished rowing with Princess.
(Please note: this post contains lessons from the FIAR manual AND activities that were added by me.)
This book was a lot of fun for us. Princess is very excited about learning the alphabet right now, so it was a perfect time with Easter coming up. The story is about a bunny’s adventure on a stormy day. One of her favorite things we did was to read as many ABC books as we could find. We read all the ones we had at home and checked out a bunch from the library. One of our favorites is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.
Because the book talks about a storm coming, we read some books about weather and wind in particular.
We did some fun Alphabet puzzles also.
Princess loved acting out the story, we had to do that over and over. We also spent a lot of time counting all the different things in the book for counting practice. The book is written as a song, so we had fun singing it as well. We learned all about the animals in the book and talked about the artwork.
We used the free package download for ABC Bunny from this website:
Princess had a lot of fun doing this Alphabet activity. There were a lot of other great printables in the package, but we just used this one. It went really well with the book. All we did was to match up the Capital and Lowercase letters.
We had a great time with this book, Princess has loved every book we’ve done so far. It’s a little bittersweet because she’s the last one I get to do Before Five in a Row with, so I’m trying to make the most of each book. Please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions below. I’d love to hear from you!
