Laura Ingalls Wilder once said, “Home is the nicest word there is.” I couldn’t agree with her more. I’ve been a “stay-at-home” mom for almost 13 years and I’ve loved (almost) every minute of it. Maybe I’m a little what they call a “homebody”, but I’ve always found a sense of comfort and contentment being at home with my kids.
Hello, blog world my name is Amy and I’d like to introduce myself to you. I have four great kids, Hailey (12), Braden (10), Cameron (6) and Rosemary (3). I always knew I wanted to be at home with my kids, even before they came along. I married my teenage sweetheart, Jason when we were only 19 and 20 years old but we waited awhile to start a family. We will celebrate our 20th anniversary this October.

We both worked up until our first child came along and I was able to quit working and stay at home with her. It hasn’t been easy, but over the years God has provided in so many ways for us and my being at home with the kids has been such a blessing to our family. We started homeschooling when our oldest, Hailey was 3 years old just doing preschool and I loved it so much. I knew without a doubt that homeschool was what God wanted for our family. And so, we have now been homeschooling for about 9 years, if you count the preschool time.

I’m starting this blog simply because I want to pass along wisdom, ideas, and inspirations that I hope will be helpful to others who are on the same road I am. I know that when I first started homeschooling, it was a little intimidating. I started reading all the homeschool blogs I could find and gleaned so much from them that I just hope to pay back a little to others. Some of the other things I’m passionate about and hope to share about besides homeschooling are books and reading, crafting, frugal living, cooking, and daily family life in general.
It is my prayer that God will use me to be a blessing to others. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you come back again!
