What is “Five in a Row”?

I’m going to be writing a lot of posts about our homeschooling, in particular our core curriculum called “Five in a Row”. I wanted to take a minute to explain what Five in a Row is, how it works and how we use it as our core for anyone who has never heard of it.

I first found FIAR when I was first getting started on Preschool with Hailey and a friend showed me her Before Five in a Row manual. I fell in love with it and was hooked instantly. I’m a Soccer Mom!

My boys have played T-Ball and Baseball in the past, so we’ve done the whole sports thing. Now my youngest boy, Cameron wanted to try soccer. So here we are! He loves it so much. It’s just a beginner league and mostly learning the skills and practicing a little every Saturday morning. He was not too thrilled about being on the purple team, but I think it looks cute.  I thought I’d share a few pictures from his first day. You can tell he was so excited!

I always knew I wanted to be at home with my kids, even before they came along. I married my teenage sweetheart, Jason when we were only 19 and 20 years old but we waited awhile to start a family. We will celebrate our 20th anniversary this October. Continue reading
